Magnets For Healing - An Attractive Alternative
Using magnets for healing is a controversial alternative energy healing practice.
Many traditional health care professionals say that there is no scientific proof of its effectiveness, and some even make it out to be a sort of new age snake oil.
For many years, I had been suspicious of magnetic healing claims. However, one pesky problem persisted - whenever I had back trouble, strapping on a magnetic belt always relieved my pain.
Was this my own mind tricking me into believing something to be true that actually wasn't? Maybe. And if so, does it matter? since my only objective is get relief from what ails me.
People do not tolerate for long, things that do not work. Therefore thousands of years of using magnets to relieve pain does offer some measure of proof. Add to this, a growing body of positive studies, and a significant number of free thinking doctors and healing professionals who use magnets for healing and well being. In that light, you have to wonder why others say there is no proof.
In China, Japan, and Europe, magnetic therapy has been accepted more readily in the medical profession than in the US, where it is now getting more attention.
Here’s what a few of these professionals have to say:
“The astounding results obtained through magnet therapy gives it a place of considerable importance in the field of therapeutics.”
Neville S. Bengali M.D.
Magnet Therapy: Theory and Practice
“Magnetic therapy in Japan and elsewhere in parts of Europe and Asia has become a kind of folk medicine, a reliable form of medical self-care.”
“Healing with Nature’s Energy” East-West Journal, June 1986
“Besides being easy, efficient and inexpensive, magnet therapy holds, furthermore, a total guarantee of safety.”
Dr. Louis Donnet, M.D.
Magnets for Your Health
Professional golfers, football, and baseball players are also beginning to adopt magnetic therapy, using magnetic mattresses, bracelets, and other wearables.
Many studies show positive correlations between the application of magnets, and pain reduction and well being. But experts do not agree on exactly how it works. But there are theories – some of the more popular:
- Magnets move the iron in our bodies which is primarily in hemoglobin, in a way that increases circulation to an injured area and therefore accelerates the healing process.
- Magnets for healing neutralize the electric nerve signals caused by pain and inflammation. This helps to heal injured tissue.
- Human beings are bioelectric systems which also produce a magnetic field. Magnetic therapy assists in balancing electric fields which get out of whack when there is illness or disease. This action normalizes metabolism and influences ions within the cell to enhance oxygen utilization, and accelerates the healing process.
- Magnetic waves penetrate the skin, stimulates acupuncture points and meridians, and invigorates the organs.
A partial list of conditions treated by magnetic therapy are: pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, bruises, broken bones, cancer, hypertension, swelling, inflammation, asthma, osteoporosis, migraines, depression, infections, and energy restoration.
Magnetic therapies utilize a natural field that we know is safe. Both the FDA and the World Health Organization have declared magnets used for healing to be safe for humans. For perspective, the MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machine routinely operates at 30,000 gauss with no effects on the body. A healing magnet operates at hundreds of times less strength.
So, are magnets for healing any more useful than the horseshoe magnets I played with as a kid, endlessly picking up nails and pieces of wire? The evidence suggests that we should all keep a good healing magnet around for those bumps and bruises, or to use for its general therapeutic properties. Just don’t expect help from your friendly refrigerator magnet. You’ll need to buy magnets that are specially designed to work with the human body. The good news is that they are not that expensive, last forever, and are an all natural therapy.
Ask yourself why wouldn’t you use magnets for healing and well being? Even if it only works in our minds, we would be learning how to create our own good health.
Magnetic therapy can be very effective when used in addition to other therapies and don’t forget its most important benefit – the restoration of the body’s natural energy balance. This earns it a position on the same superpower energy healing art team as
